This past semester, I was tasked with creating, branding and marketing a fundraising initiative to help fight childhood food insecurity. Throughout the semester, my group and I worked to create Battle of the Baristas. This event was a family-friendly barista competition benefiting Secret Meals For Hungry Children. This experience allowed me to practice many skills including event coordination, branding, marketing, media relations and teamwork.
Our event was a huge success. In completion, 131 people attended our event. Many attendees were members of sponsoring organizations, especially on-campus panhellenic organizations, and many others were loyal Monarch customers. In all, we raised $2,725 for Secret Meals, which will feed 19 children every weekend for an entire school year. Check out the video to learn more!
